Hearing Pictures


It’s hard to draw a line—where one ends, where the other begins, what is shared?

Armed with a camera again, but reacting with a less dominant American sense—the aural envelope. These sounds overlap in a chance composition of ten (or so) exposures.  The Holga saw what I heard (is hearing feeling?) as I pointed it toward scattering sound bits accordingly. This image is a scan of med-format b/w film—light stained edges. The closeness of shoes stepping by me, over me?  While squatting blindfolded on the sidewalk I felt vibrations, moving air, ghosty proximity—of the passing by of object, people, time.
